Yep...I thought our precip would be more on the backside of the low as the mountains start forcing the backside flow orographically and that now is clear on radar...But as Math/Met pointed out the lower levels are awful dry... hopefully that first band of virga that moved through was enough to saturate the column so the snow can reach the ground.
Those little popcorn type snow showers can get pretty vigorous at times underneath them...very interesting little system. This system would keep the smartest of mets on their toes.
Let us know if its reaching the ground Reb!!

Reports of snow reaching the ground in Blount County Via my Brother
Very light though.

Well I just talked to my in-laws in Bristol. They live off exit 7 on the virginia side, and they say they've gotten almost another quarter to half inch tonight. They left our house in Morristown, and first hit the snow at about exit 60 in TN. So I guess if you go far enough NE, you can get snow. I just wish we all could have cashed in with this one. It's been a tough one here this year, I agree Toot.

Yeah, decent way up.
Interesting to see that precip break out. You nailed that one dawg. Now to see if it will materialize into something frozen here.

Jed you should also see some snow falling tonight too...hard to say if any of it will accumulate though...that will just be up to how nice of a return you get under.

Lol, I do have a few small flakes here now. Tiny, but something. I see what yall at talking about now with the radar. I had almost given up. appears there may be a little potential left here after all.

Lol...we have to take what we can get this winter. Normally this type of event around here would just be brushed off as a nuisance. Anyways I learn from these weird little systems that have unfamiliar stormtracks...even if I just get a few flakes I consider this little system a valuable learning tool and at least it was worth my time tracking it.

With the exception of Mt Leconte it looks as if the Tri Cities area will be the only place that gets anything more than a dusting with this one...Im sure MRX is glad that its about over...im sure they have probably been chasing their tales all day.
Edited to add the NC mountains probably did the best with this event...those returns are some of the healthiest ive seen over there this year

Well we did'nt get anything out of this 2nd clipper, but we still have plenty of snow on the ground from thursday's event. Sure is nice! I reckon we got 2.5 to maybe 3 inches here. I'll post some pics when I find my cord to hook my camera to the computer.
