Does the CPC have a warm bias?

Post by Toot on 2012-07-16, 8:42 am

I have began to notice that the CPC has almost quit forecasting any cooler than normal anomalies in the CONUS. I know its been warm and all but why no cooler than normal anomalies forecasted anymore?

This is the three month temp outlook..There will be cooler than normal anomalies somewhere in the CONUS but CPC makes no mention of any cooler than normal anomalies in their graphical outlook

Just seems a little bit strange to me

Don Sutherland is smiling and twirling his mustache somewhere in New York right now.

Probably the same reason middle-TN shows a severe drought even though we had 6 to 7 inches of rain recently.

The latest drought monitor was updated on July 10th--before the recent heavy rains. They update it weekly (every Tuesday). So, the new one should be out sometime tomorrow.
