Is your thread starter broke? Ive been really busy the last few days and I really havent had time to do much on the internet. Its nice to see the euro and canadian come on board tho. All have there differences in the track of the system..there is a lot of support for this but I would like to see better ensemble agreement. If someone wants to start a thread I see nothing wrong with it

Our winter weather has put everyone on edge, it is insanely pitiful how our winter weather has been. I can understand why nobody would feel real good about starting a thread about a storm, we may as well wait and let it get within a closer window. It seems like the minute somone has put one up this year it get's crapped on quickly. I think everybody is watchin and hopeful but have been burnt to many times, just snow already or at least get within a 3-5 day range before we get to excited. What can go wrong these days seems to find a way to do it here in middle and west tn, hopeful but not getting to high on anything till I see it in a shorter range than 9-15 days.

Agreed Bruce..it needs to be watched because it could possibly trend more south and east which would result in a major TN snow storm. Snowdog wouldnt know a good pattern if it hit him in the face..lol I kid i kid beer

How did I get drug into this? LOL. Did I say this wasn't a good pattern upcoming? I just said I wasn't all that excited because it looked like a strong lakes cutter followed by a mostly cold and suppressed look. If the strong ULL can come a bit more south and east obviously we would be in a good spot. Still might be in a decent spot as some models want to show the cold really wrapping around the west and southern flank of the ULL.

Really an interesting look for early March. As Mundie has said, this may be one of the coldest starts to March we have seen and if this pattern were to come in the middle of January we may have had a much different winter.

Well this has been a cool/cold March with snow in parts of Tenn but nothing like this. Moscow Records Highest March Snow Depth in 20 Years

Published March 30, 2013

AccuWeather

As of March 26, 2013, the snow depth in Moscow, Russia, was 30 inches, their highest March snow depth in more than 20 years.

"A previous record snow depth of 29 inches was recorded March 19, 1994," said Senior Expert Meteorologist Jim Andrews.

In early February, following a big outburst of snow, reports from Interfax (the Russian news service) stated the snowfall had reached 85 inches. Normal snowfall for Moscow is 60 inches.

The Moscow Times reported that Moscow is having their coldest March since the 1950s. Colder temperatures there this spring have prevented the birds from migrating north from their wintering grounds.

During the week of March 17-23, 2013, temperatures in Moscow dropped to negative 55 degrees F. This was the lowest March temperature recorded in 50 years. cold
