Totes jealous of all you east tennessee folks.
From Little Rock to Raleigh - nearly everyone has gotten some snow thus far. Except Nashville.

The northern valley below 1000' (Knoxville) should be counting their lucky stars on this one. In poker terms they sucked out. That was very close to being a bust.

I wanted to thank Jed for posting this SPC MCD about 1pm yesterday.
I knew there would be some impressive dynamics and snowfall rates..but being at work I didnt exactly know where or when. When I seen this I knew I had to get home. I immediately dropped everything I was doing and headed to the house where I preceded to catch the thundersnow video. What an awesome storm this was!
Here is the raw video which has more definition and shows the snow rates/flakes much better than the youtube vid.. which I used their software to steady the camera shake.

Lol, Toot, too be honest, at the time, I was just looking for anything positive I could find, as I didn't like the looks of the radar (was wanting the gap btwn the lows to fill in, and it did eventually). TBH, I thought Morristown was just barely in the circle, and we may not see those rates verify, but maybe kingsport, Bristol, and Johnson City would, since they were right in the middle of it. The Deformation Band, which was really just part of that same rainmaking machine that had stalled set up in just the right spot for N kboxville N and E! This will be one I won't ever forget. Storms like this don't come around very often!!

Well...Oak Ridge did not even get a dusting! NOTHING! Just 10 miles down to the road to Knoxville there is 2 inches!!! This was crazy! Maybe Oak Ridge will get some snow this winter...

One year ago tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the illustrious (haha) thundersnow!!! It was so awesome! Maybe someday we will get to see that again! 5in of snow accumulated in just 3hrs in Morristown from the rain that just wouldn't go away. Can only imagine what it would have been like had the changeover happened a couple hours earlier!
