Well things went from bad to worse. Got dark and turned to all rain. 29 degrees. Went to the store down the street and saw two trees laying over on power lines. Roads are 3/4 covered with 3/4 of an inch from the sleet earlier.

Hopefully you don't lose power or have to travel. I enjoy the rare ice storms here.

Hey Kevin, I don't know the full details about a hp over the arctic, but Robert once said in one of his posts this year, that that is a signature for a big SE winter storm. I wish I knew what post it was from, but I don't. Sorry, thats all I know.

Closing in on 6in of rain for this event. I live on a ridge, but the Nolichucky is just down the hill from me. When I got on I81 this afternoon, it was beginning to flood real bad. I feel sorry for those folks along rivers and creeks right now.

I'd take ice/sleet here. To me the worst of all weather is heavy rain and 33-35 degrees and it's pouring down now and 34.
