Yes, we should add a couple of these weekly planners for each part of the state, putting those weekly planners into a separate subforum

So far Friday's high has went from 58 to 44 and low of 40 to low of 29 in 4days.. That is the biggest change so far. And tbh that's a pretty big difference too. 14degree's for the high and 11degrees from the low. It cant snow at 40 but at 29 I think it can and we are getting pretty close to winter so they better straighten up otherwise we will get a 40 for a low one day and only expect 2inches of cold rain but end up getting 2foot of snow and low of 29. lol Smile

It acutally can snow at 40 degrees, I have seen it happen and the snow actaully accumulated.

All you need is colder air aloft so that the snow can make it all the way down to the surface.

Yea but can it snow when the temps above are warmer. I think not. Very Happy And thats what I mean is it will be something frozen at 29 but at 40 90% of the time (unless we have cold air above) it will be rain only. I hardly ever see it snow when its in the upper 30s but when its in the 20s its always snow unless its a strong gulf low. Then it would be more of a freezing rain event.

Sounds almost like my old posts at tnwx last winter doesn't it Toot Saban?? Its aight Skills, I learned, and you will too. I'll take you under my wing and teach ya if you want. Its really not that hard at all. All you have to do is become more patient in your posts, look around for your answers (they're there, just have to find them), think your post through before clicking submit, and put in some effort to learn the weather. I can help you.

Omg, yall didn't read what I wrote correctly.. I know it can snow when its above freezing at the surface I was just saying that most of the time here in middle Tennessee if its above freezing at the surface it is only rain. Its hardly ever rain when its below freezing at the surface.. And with a gulf low you will have alot of warmer air above unless ofc it clashes with a colder airmass but then it will be below freezing... Just put it more in simpler terms if its 40 outside unless its below freezing above then it will only be rain. If its 29 outside it will be snow and rarely if its warmer above it could be freezing rain. Both are a pretty big diffrence and channel 5's forecast changed that much in 4days im saying if it changes that much when we get into winter with a rain storm on us then there will be trouble cause they only called for 40 with rain 4 days ago and now its snowing and is 29 outside.

I read you. And I still like the idea of gauging the accuracy of local forecasts.

Well all in all so far they seem to have gotten majority of the forecast correct and yes there is some changes day by day but no were near as bad as I figured they would be. Let's just wait until we start getting bigger systems (with snow) then I bet we will see more of a difference.

I think we will start to see bigger changes in there forecast soon. Said high of 54 today and we only got to like 44. And they have high of 60 for next Sunday.. I really want to see how that changes cause other stations have us in the 40s and I think thats were we will be on that day too.
