The storm near Rockmart GA has a history of golf ball sized hall ! Also a report of baseball size hall with that same cell in Polk county.

Ya..its a very healthy looking system!

That puppy goes on to bomb out sub 980mb near the Canadian border! As modeled it will get very hairy but its still quite a ways out and many aspects will change..sure is interesting tho popcorn

Meanwhile.. storms off to my west looks to be weakening due to loss of daytime heating. cheers

Apparently there's quite a bit of damage about 15 minutes up the road from here in Madisonville. I'm seeing all kinds of stuff on facebook about a tornado touchdown and trees down everywhere, power outages, and several homes damaged.
I strongly doubt that it was a tornado, but it was enough to make Monroe Co schools open one hour late tomorrow.

The interesting thing is that this particular cell wasn't even severe warned, it only had a significant weather advisory out for it...Never really looked very impressive on radar to my eyes.

Just an example of some of the stuff I am seeing if anyone is interested...

Monroe County Buzz: 9:43PM: This storm has brought much damage, members of the Buzz families have been affected and thankfully they are all ok, PLEASE STAY IN OFF THE ROADS, trees, powerlines, debris everywhere. Monroe County law enforcement and emergency personnel are working hard in dangerous conditions, keep them in your prayers. Post here to share information of damage, blocked roads and any other information that may be helpful to all our neighbors. Stay safe.

Monroe County Daily News Express: 9:08PM: Storm tears down trees, power lines and damages homes in Oak Grove Road/ Dyer Road, Down town Madisonville area, Community Drive area, and the Gudger Community (mainly Chestua Road). FLEC, County Highway Dept, in route to clear up the debris, and restore power.

9:14PM: Sheriff Bill Bivens just requested a second shift of deputies to come out and help patrol and check on citizens.

10:26PM: The Red Cross has set up a shelter at the Gudger Fire Department for anyone needing a place to stay or other assistance.
