So far I have had 5 and a half inches of snow. Looks like one more band of heavy snow coming in from the SW

I'm pissed right now. Been chilling out with camera ready to shoot thunder and lightning if we get any. About 10 minutes ago nice flash of lightning while I was in the house. Of course I walk outside to film and all I got was 5 minutes of darkness and cold numb hands.

Ok Toot, Jed, or anyone else. Looking at radar, it seems the snow is tapering down some. Are we coming to an end, or are just taking a breather? I'm a 4", and would like to see at least 2 more inches.

Light snow now winding down. After many measurements we ended up with 5 1/4" at my house. Not too shabby. We lost the 2" we picked up this morning due to melt but I was caged in at work and couldn't see it anyway so I didn't count that. News just said officially the airport is now at 5" and still reporting snow. That's a good snow considering our airport totals are usually lower than other areas.

LOL, VW put us on a 2 hour delay starting production at 8am. Shortage of parts and shortage of people equals we will work Friday to make it up. Can't see us going in. They let us off 2 hours early today and paid us for lost time which is cool. Also paying us extra 2 hours tomorrow for lost time. So free 4 hours pay and get to enjoy snow. Life was good today!

Edit to add just when I thought we were finished he snow picked back up a little more. If we don't have a lot of melting my total could possibly go up a little.

Oh my look at these tweets from WXSouth.
@WxSouth: Looking at latest trends. East TN, west NC, north GA and southwest VA will be in for a good clocking tonight and tomorrow AM. #thundersnow

@WxSouth: Writing is clearly on the wall. Models were too fast on upper low. Will pound East TN, SW VA, west NC all night long . Huge snows.

@WxSouth: precip in west NC should redevelop overnight . #tnwx eastern is in for slamming all night. Quite a bit more to come. some 18" totals likely

Folks hang on to your hats! Snow keeps picking up a little more. Not as heavy as before but heavier than the last hour. Also just had 2 more flickers of lightning but to my surprise no thunder. Once again I went outside to try to capture it on video. I got nothing.

Edit : This band just keeps giving. Heavier rates now. If we can hang on to this band for awhile we may be able to add another inch, possibly 2 if it can last a few more hours. I know if we end up with 6 or 7 at my house that's nothing for most of you guys above Kville but it's a big deal down here.

Everyone stay safe and enjoy!

With deform. Just walked outside to check . Counters snow coming down due to no lights outside now. Light misty snow is all now but that last burst we got put me barely over 7". I'm very happy with this. Also power luck especially are down all over East Ridge. I live at the foot of Missionary Ridge near the Georgia line and limbs and a few tress have bit the dust as well.
