Look familar?

This video has relevance once again..as you know the MJO was forecast and in favorable phases a week or so ago and of course we got nothing and now the MJO is not forecast to be that favorable but the NAO and PNA are forecst to be favorable towards the last of Febuary first of march on the NAO's rise out of negative toward neutral. This is when you get winter storms most of the time when the NAO is trying to rebound out of Neg territory. Lol..if we get a winter storm with the local indices (NAO/PNA) in a favorable state but as the MJO is not so favorable it just goes on to reinforce my belief that the MJO is not as important as the local indices!

Someone on AmericanWx posted a list of Southern storms and MJO phases that blew the favorable/unfavorable MJO theory out of the water. It was actually more wintery during the so called unfavourable phases over the past 50 years.
