Just shy of 8" here in West Knox. Talking to family in North Chatt they have about 6 inches, but lost power around midnight last night

Heard a quick rumble last night around 9-10 (snow was incredibly heavy)... not sure if it was thundersnow or a train... I'm gonna go with thundersnow

How bad of a refreeze can we expect tonight? The roads here in loudon county are semi clear except back roads. Just wondered with all the melting that will take place today and tonight will cause travel concerns in the morning. I have a kid that is hoping to enjoy some late night sledding and not have to worry about school. Thoughts?

Anything with the system tomorrow night? That will add to this or is it going to be all rain.

Still no damn power. On the iPad now so hopefully my typing will be better. Ended up with a smidgen over 7". Roads were bad early but the sun has melted it off. Still a lot of snow left but melting fast. Up on Signal mtn now just chilling out. This was definitely a fun storm to follow.

Nice pic^^
A nice little burst of snow is quite possible after cold front passes..accumulations should be relatively light if you get them tho.underdawg45 wrote:Anything with the system tomorrow night? That will add to this or is it going to be all rain.

Nice snow! About 7" here. Unfortunately it melted as fast as it arrived, but hey... it's sure been an awesome winter compared to the past several years. My gut tells me this is probably going to be the last snow event of this season (other than a dusting or two).

Obligatory satellite image from 2-13 around 3PM. Still a lot of clouds over Knox and NE

Well just got my power on. Been 42 hours without it. We had 7.5 inches of snow. Airport had 7.2. I have so far this winter 9 inches IMBY. Airport i think has 8.6. Great winter so far. Hoping for at least one more before winter is over. Don't like the power loss but that ok.Hope everyone stayed safe.

Congrats Windstorm. We pulled in the driveway at 6:40 this evening with no light in house and no security lights. As I was fumbling around trying to get the key in the door BAM!!! The lights came on!. We were out 41 hours here so you win by 1 hour! It sucked but was fun at the same time.
It's funny our area in East Ridge seemed to do really well as far as snowfall. 7 to 9 inches common. Still have snow in front yard. Believe it or not it is either bare ground or still 3 inches on ground. Rain started 30 minutes ago so I'm guessing it will be gone by midnight.
Still a great storm.

Re: Significant winter storm possible (Feb 12th-13th 2014)
Thanks Grandpa Nasty. Could I say at that moment you saw the light ??? I will give the NWS credit, when it looked bleak about us getting anymore snow that afternoon, they stuck it out and said that a warm nose of air had push as far north as Athens, Tn and in there weather discussion they said the warm air was going to get push down below the tennessee border and moderate to heavy snow would fall in the late afternoon and evening. This was at 3:20 p.m. when i read that. At about 4:30 hugh and heavy snowflakes began to fall . It had been raining for about 3 or so hours before that. Hats off to the NWS. Have a great weekend everyone.
