Not yet Adam, but it will here soon. And if it doesn't, then we've got the next few systems to watch for. No biggie.

We are getting the first flurries of the day in Greeneville.
The flurries aren’t really showing up on the base reflectivity but you can see them on the composite.

It's snowing here. Just a few flakes so far. Extremely windy. Gusting to 40.

And just like that it's snowing moderately. Very fluffy nickel sized flakes. Temp is 31 with a wind chill well down into the teens.

Still a balmy 37 degrees on LeConte but expected hit -17 wind chill tonight.

Is it safe to say that this map illustrates why the valley gets ripped off in these events? No upward vertical velocity due to downsloping off the plateau?

The Northern valley can do quite well in these events..with the moisture moving in from a NW trajectory downsloping is not a big problem usually. Its when precip is moving west to east that the valley really sees incredible downsloping.

Looks liike Eastern Kentucky is really getting some monster snow showers. I'd love to see one or two roll through here like that, sadly I think I am a bit to far South and West. Moisture fetch off the lakes isn't in a very favorable direction for me.

Re: Quick shot of snow and Arctic Outbreak coming
The three peaks of LeConte, viewable from my deck, just disappeared into a cloud. I wonder if they are squeezing out a few flakes up there. Man I wish I could have taken a hike today.

Hopefully this is more typical for me in that events like this usually start going pretty well around 4:30 or 5 and on towards dark.
Right now it's snow/sun/snow/sun in 5 minute intervals. Looks like heavier precip still in Western Kentucky that might be rotating this way. Would love to have a band like the one near Jackson Ky.

I think that will be the case John...,that also seems to be about when the HR is putting more returns down this way
Re: Quick shot of snow and Arctic Outbreak coming
Had a friend just tell me it looks like a blizzard in the Southern half of the county. Some green radar returns are starting to show up there. Looks like a bit more building to my NW that will hopefully come over me. Hard to tell with the spotty radar coverage in this area.

It's like the snowpocalypse out here right now. Got a heavy dusting out of the current band.

Re: Quick shot of snow and Arctic Outbreak coming
I think it might have to be sustained, but we are getting very close to blizzard conditions. Winds are NW at 30 with gusts to 44 and visibility is about 1/4th mile right now with sideways blowing quartersized snow flakes.
I just wish the sun wouldn't be back out in 10 minutes.

And like that it's over. Amazingly hard when you get under one of the darker greens. It blew the tin off my neighbors barn while it was moving through.

The very heavy squalls are coming closer and closer together now. It's like a white, wind driven wall out there.

Nice stout little snow shower kicked up briefly in west Knox. First warning shot has been fired, let's what else you got mother nature.
