I'm surprised nobody on here is really talking about this. Death toll has now been confirmed at 51 via KFOR on TWC. This tornado is very reminiscent of the one that destroyed Joplin, MO, back in 2011.

Pray for all that were affected by these monster tornadoes. I know many may disagree but that's OK. They really don't know how fast the winds were blowing in these storms. It all guess work. They do a lot of testing in Labs in a control place it not like out in the open where the raw power of these storms are. That's just my 2 cents worth,. Have a good day.

Toot what's cool about that time lapse radar is that one shower that got sucked/wraped in to the inflow and fed the storm. Also just looking at that radar it seem that other storm south was strong enough to choke off the main storm or it could have kept going. Just my uneducated thoughts.

If I hear one more stupid news person say they had 16 minutes of warning I am going to puke. There was a warning 16 minutes before a tornado formed. It was I think 40 minutes before it hit Moore. Why do they let stupid people report ?

Death toll has now been reduced to 24 confirmed, thankfully. Apparently some of the fatalities were counted twice, and that's why we had the inflated numbers. I'm just glad the rumor of a possible 91 deaths from last night has not come to fruition.

Good grief, what is the deal with winter? This morning MRX AFD mentions the possibility of frost again this weekend over NE TN, SW VA, and the mtns. Lol, this sounds like somewhat of a remote possibility, but good grief, if it does, this would have to be some kind of record, even in the mountains, I would guess. Even if it doesn't frost, upper 30s to low 40s this time of year is ridiculously cold!

MRX has added "a slight risk for a tornado or two" in there noon FD. Is this precautionary or is the wording legit?

Is it possible we make it to July before TYS hits 90. June looks at or below average on temps plus a saturated ground will help.

Sitting at 73 and a 15 to 20 mph N wind. Just looking into the sky it is so blue. Rare this time a year to see such a blue sky. I think we will get down to the low to middle 40's tonight. If the wind dies down. I will take this anytime in late spring or summer. A footnote on rainfall for the month. 11.16 inches of rain so far. Year to date :: 42.64. All this is recorded IMBY... Everyone have a safe weekend. And ever better if u get a 3 day weekend. And remember the ones who die to give us the freedom we have today. God Bless.
