i do see a hint of blue coming in the radar

Toot, where is the cold air at for the valley?! It is 38 degrees here in Oak Ridge, NWS is forecasting a low of 31..You think it will make it?

No I dont...the upper low (Seen on water vapor below and centered over Missouri) is over powering the colder airmass that was in place earlier than anyone expected.




Its advecting warmer gulf of mexico air into the state. With temps above freezing and WAA on the way in...its just not going to happen in most spots.



I wouldnt rule NE TN out but i've got to be honest it looks like a big bust everywhere else.

You may see some sleet/snow at the onset but aside from higher elevations and NE TN...I dont see any potential for accumulations. Hope im wrong but thats what im taking from latest trends/data.

32.2 here but no precip to speak of for my area. Be surprised if I get much in the way of frozen precip. I did see a salt truck heading south on I-75 when I came home. Not sure where he was going.

Crossville reporting snow and 34, still no moisture here.

LOL He is'nt coming here!! 34 degrees here in Monterey, with sleet and a few flakes thrown in for good measure.

Look how well the WBIR radar picks out the higher elevations (Time Sensitive)

The precip is being eating alive here. I don't even think I'll get more than .10 of rain out of this.

At the rate the precip is dying out, I don't know that I'll even get a sprinkle out of this. It was always marginal at best. The WBIR radar above does have snow about 10 miles west of me in Scott Co right now, but precip is fading fast as it gets here. Doesn't even appear as virga above me, just goes away completely. Temp is still holding steady at 32 though.

Finally precip reaching the ground. Moderate sleet with snow mixed in, 32.4 degrees.

Ok. 5 10 am and just got in Jeep to head home from work. Only got down to 38 here with light rain. Nothing frozen. Very disappointed. Looks like the local weekend mets are smarter than I give them credit for.

Well we had about 15 minutes of sleet/snow and then nothing. Not even any rain.

Chalk up another one for the HRRR. It nailed this sucker for the most part 15 hours out.
