**Big Dog ULL/Southern Slider Jan 17th -18th 2013**

Now the snow has turned to rain here in north east knox. Hope it switches back.

Check out the TDOT cams. Looks like I-75 is the dividing line on the snow. Cams west of I-75 show nothing...cams east and northeast of I-75 show a good coating. Looks like 640 and 40 east of the city are getting it good.

There are flash flood warnings to our south, the rate of precipitation is tremendous. These returns are putting down some heavy stuff!

Snow is tapering off now. Looks like it's rotated to the SE/E side of the county. Don't know if it'll re-develop any or not. Got about 2 inches. Got thundersnow. Didn't get the 6+ the NAM advertised to heavily the past two days but I'm satisfied. Only had one decent snow in late Feb last year and that's more than most people got. So off to a faster start this year by comparison at least.

I take back my comment about not feeling it. In fact, when I get home, i'll delete it.

Heck, its thundersnowing here in Jeff City! I was just like "nah, its not gonna thundersnow... where's it at???" and then the second right after that, it immediately thundered. Fun times!

I would like to ask, will the heaviest stuff move east towards the mountains? I am having a hard time judging by the radar. Also, am I missing the deformation band, or is it just forming ?

Its insane here..Probably closing in on two inches now! I just got my fourth round of thunder. And I got this last one on video..lol oh hell yes!

Probably gonna end up with at least 3-4 inches here if not more. Uploading video to youtube now.

Yes it should pivot eastward as the evening wears on. Probably got around 2 inches here, haven't got out and measured yet. It is a mess on the roads, alot of people got stuck, I'm sure it surprised many people with the quick changeover.

Yeah, I had to drive from WS to my house in Jeff City. I was at chick fil a eating when it started changing over. I went back to school because they hadn't cancelled class yet, and the class started like 10 minutes after I got back to school. I looked it up on my phone one last time, and I saw that they were cancelled. Then I had a fun drive home in the snow. It was great!

I almost had a wreck on the way home. Couldn't make it up the hill.

I’m approaching 2 inches here, and it is still snowing hard. I've heard distant thunder twice.

A report of 5 inches in Maynardville.

Heard a report of 8 inches in Norris.

Norris and Maynardville were right under the dark red returns during the thunder snow. I assume they had some 3+ inch per hour rates.

Silver dollars again here..closing in on three inches!
