Todd Howell just said that the heaviest band has set up over NE Knox, part of Hamblen, and Straw Plains/Jeff City. He said we could end up with 4-8 inches in Hamblen/Sevier/Jefferson counties. Already up to 4 and it still coming down!

This happened in an hour from nothing. Snow is just laying right on top of the water. I left work early to beat the traffic.... didn't work out too well, but I made it in due time. Fun stuff!

nice heavy snow in maryville, radar looking damn good, fill in more as i type. roads covered, probably 1-1/2 inches here. im happy with this system. stoked.

We're at 2 inches in Downtown West Knoxville. Our power is starting to flicker as well. This is a satisfying way to end our winter drought, plus, I've learned SO much about weather thanks to this week. Thanks to everyone for keeping us up to date!

tom the precip is moving west on radar...once it starts to diminish from the west to the east thats when this thing will start winding down. still have another couple of hours of precip id say

Nearly 4 inches in Erwin thus far. The kids are having a blast, the wife is making hot choc. and I, strangely enough am listening to old weather channel songs... life on the wild side right?

Got about 4 inches on top of cars now..it briefly changed back to sleet/rain for few minutes but is Now back to lightsnow

This statement is why I think being a NC border county will pay off as far as snow total goes. Can anyone verify this for me? I think as the storm pivots it will create the thunder snow here in Cocke(NC border) that I have that seen you guys posting.

1.5 to 2" here in NW Knox county. Snowing at a moderate rate. Internet down (knology) (Im using my phone to post). Power flicked off for 1/2 second; now flickers occasionally. Temp at 32.3, but it must be freezing as no precip showing in rain gauge.

Unfortunately it looks like snow will b ending soon as the snow band seems to be moving south out of my area. Is this the last or could we see another wave of snow?

I just looked at the Wate radar and the nws radar, and both show the precip starting to wind down from NW to SE. Its knocking right at my door.

After it leaves, its gone, until possibly Tuesday lol...

Down in Chattanooga/Harrison area we got a lump of coal. Did see some light snow. Don't know about the MTS around us how much they got. facepalm

That sucks!! I thought we were going to get a lump of coal up here around Tellico Plains, too... but we've got about half an inch, all within the last 30 minutes or so. It's still coming down hard, but don't anticipate much more at all with the precip shield sliding out.

Ehh, better than nothing I guess.
