Reb wrote:toot how were ensembles on that shitty run?
Shitty also! This is not directed at anyone but Tom gave some great advice earlier. This one will drive you crazy if you expect to see it on every single model run. The potential is there for a historic type of storm but ALL the cards will have to fall into place for the historic storm. There is just so much going on before this it will be hard to get a good picture on this one for a few days. Everybody have good evening/night..im gonna take a break from the weather graphics/forums/fb blog/etc..for the rest of the evening and go have a alcoholic beverage or three

Either shift the heavier snow down or shift it to the right and then I'll take a side of it

Ken Weathers from WATE-TV just said that next weekend definitely has potential and that they'll be talking about it a lot this coming week.

Re: Presidents Day System
We got some Flurries back on the GFS at HR 150. We can only go up from here.
Re: Presidents Day System
looks like the only thing that may punish us is the freaking cold air... minus 10 s all the way to the georgia coast...the northern stream is just to strong and trough isnt west enough isnt helping... cold but bone dry

Maybe just maybe the gfs is overdoing the cold air, it would be nice if the big dog could come together just for once. We're DUE!tennessee storm09 wrote:looks like the only thing that may punish us is the freaking cold air... minus 10 s all the way to the georgia coast...the northern stream is just to strong and trough isnt west enough isnt helping... cold but bone dry

Re: Presidents Day System
If the V-Day storm performs as modeled a few days ago this one has potential. If it scoots OTS, probably gonna just have some very cold temps and scattered snow flurries or snow showers.

As a wise man said one time. The GFS giveth and he sure takes it away. Snow that is. I would like to thank the one playing the ( Joker ) known to many as the GFS. Thanks for all you have done this winter. Only thing it is staying with is the cold weather. This is no big dog, it is a Hot Dog always showing off before the big event and leaving everyone going what happen. Life is full of ups and downs and there have been many this winter for most of Tennessee. It a Punisher all right. ( GFS that Is ) Have a good day. P.S. But don't give up, there always next year and year after that. Have a good day everyone.

Re: Presidents Day System
The GFS ENS is still fairly bullish about accumulating snow in Tennessee during this time frame. More than half the members still show snow for Tennessee. A few members show massive powerhouse storms still.
These are the individual members that show snow for Tennessee during this time frame.

Re: Presidents Day System
Good catch John!
Anyone writing this off because a particular computer model is not showing it does not comprehend that the comuter model doesnt control the storm system. Its actually more of the other way around! Sometimes a model never picks up on a system until its right on your doorstep..but that will not be the case with this one! This system is exactly where I would expect it to be this far out on operational models. SUPPRESSED! If you remember the "big dog" back around JAN 17th was also progged by models and then progged as being suppressed until it got near the nams range. Most big winter storms are usually progged suppressed from time to time and the outta the blue one run will show it and this one is no different!
The ingredients is there for a TRUE big dog..not just 6 inches,,and im being dead serious when I say that
