Clipper Train 2013

Looks like moisture is drying up as it moves in to East Tenn.

It is pouring down now. I thought it was over but the back edge redeveloped. All of Kingsport is in this heavy band, now all of the roads are covered. Temp is 27 which is a huge bust from the predicted high of 36.

Just got a text from up at home that heavy snow was falling with 2 inches on the ground. Nothing going down here in the Hixon area.

Cousin sent me this right after sun set. He said it snowed very heavily for about 30 more minutes after this.

Went skiing today at Beech Mtn. NC. The clipper finally got there about noon, and it didn't let up. It had put down about an inch when we left around 330. However, the way back was pretty tough going, esp. From Elizabethton to Johnson City. Then again on I81 I hit this big band from Fall Branch to Baileyton. It was Really cool. When we got home, I had btwn half an inch and 3/4 in on my glass picnic table from this system. So it was way better than the other night. At least for me. I took some pics at Beech, and will try to upload, but prob. Be tomorrow. I'm kinda tired!

Apparently another spoke of energy will rotate through around 3-7 in the morning from 40 and points north.

I haven’t actually measured, but it looks like we have about 1.5 inches. Looking at the reports, many areas in the Tri-Cities region are reporting 2-4 inches.

Hey folks! Hope everyone is staying warm. We have 3.5 inches over here in Erwin and its still coming down. This has been a beautiful snow.

Geeze, totally jealous of the Tri-Cities! My Mother in Law lives on the VA side. She says they are approaching 6in!!!

Do you guys think the snow is through for the overnight, or is there another disturbance to follow?

Per the local nws offices it should reach middle TN around 3 am, east TN by 5 and be out between 10-12. Its in Missouri booking SE right now.

Getting some very fine but at a moderate clip snow shower.

Temp profiles are so weird across the area. 38 in Knox, 37 in Middlesboro, 32 in Cross, 30 in Tri, 35 in Nooga. Nothing uniform west to east or north to south.

This next clipper looks juicy on radar. It might be rain or it might be snow in your area.

Heavy snow burst popped up over Morristown, assuming it's snow, It'll work it's way east and probably produce heavy snow for 20-30 minutes.

John, you are correct. We are getting some decent snow at the moment. I was actually waiting to see if this would form, because the HRRR has been showing this development for several runs.

OHX really expanded their WWA. That next batch will have some heavy snow.

Moderate snow herer with clipper #3. where im at near teh Sevier county/Jeff County line. Half inch on the ground already...some serious bands/streamers on radar

heavy dusting so far here. nice.

Got heavy snow now with big half dolaar sized flakes coming down at about an inch an hour. 3/4 of an inch on the ground right now with more to come. May get a couple of inches outta clipper #3. Have a video of the big flakes uploading..will post in a sec

Got huge silver dollars coming down now about an inch on the ground. About an 1.5 in an hour coming down now. I love clipper systems and there is at least 3 more on the way
