Tennessee counties need to start bracing. Dyersburg Weather, you hunkering down bro?
Re: Late January warmup with possible severe
IT APPEARS REASONABLE THAT A
COUPLE OF CELLS WOULD MATURE WITHIN THIS BAND OF SHOWERS AND DEEPEN
INTO DISCRETE SUPERCELLS IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
Also, if you've not tuned into this memphis live feed you are missing both interesting information but also big time laughs. Some slap-stick coverage mixed in for sure.

Re: Late January warmup with possible severe
It'll be interesting to see how well those two lines hold together as they move across the state. The line out in front seems to have some umph to it. I would personally rather wake to just thunder than damaging hail, but that's just me. Last thing we need around here is more storm chasing roofer con artists trying to cash in on the calamity.
Re: Late January warmup with possible severe
Tornado warnings south of Nashville I hear. Hunker down Mundie, you may have a show pretty soon.
Re: Late January warmup with possible severe
I some reason get scared of thunder and lightning now.. And I hate that.. Im scared that I will be stuck by lightning so I always go to the middle of my house and sit down now.. And if the thunder ever gets loud I get so paranoid and cover my ears through the whole event.. I'm such a wimp now lool

Anxiously waiting on the storms to arrive. A severe line off to my west headed my way with damaging winds of 80 mph/ quarter size hail. Hope it weakens some.

Re: Late January warmup with possible severe
Storms are beginning to weaken somewhat. The air in East Tennessee is more stable than in Middle and West Tennessee.
Severe will still be very possible in East TN but extremely heavy rain with embedded thunder and lightning is much more likely.

Broke down so completely that I've not even heard a rumble of thunder. Just moderate to heavy rain. The warming didn't quite occur in this part of the state. I stayed in the 40s all day yesterday rather than the near 60 degree temps that were forecast.

Re: Late January warmup with possible severe
I knew this would be a midsouth event from the start. There were alot of limiting factors as you got eastward
Re: Late January warmup with possible severe
Heavy rain here, 2 (that's two) flashes of lightening. That sure died out. Was looking forward to some night time fireworks. The wind picked up a good bit, as it came thru. Pretty quick!! Maybe 40 mph, rain was sideways and bookin it. I hear they have some severe damage down in AL. Birmingham and all, they can't get a break. Do you'all reckon we will get hit with severe again towards the middle of this week? I am beginning to wonder about spring time severe weather. Could it be as bad as last year?

Re: Late January warmup with possible severe
I'm pretty sure there wasn't even a rumble of thunder here, just hard rain. That is pretty much how the guidance showed it playing out. It was a neat storm to watch. Now, let's get back to winter!

Nobody can accurately predict severe with any accuarcy in the long range...maybe one day but it aint happening with current technology. I dont see any other severe events on the table for us right now. The stormtrack should keep shifting south as we get close to febuary....and im pumped about it

What does the Farmers Almanac say about the long range severe threats??
