TYS is reporting 34 on the Weather Link app that updates every 2 seconds. Statements like "I guarantee you their equipment is better than yours" is ridiculous. A good example of why I know of several others that don't come on here anymore. Childish.

Its not ridculous NOAA has the best available and are setup by pros VFL and I dont care who comes here. This site was created so ANYONE could say what they want without some mod erasing everything u post. Dont like the way I run it hit the door just like all the rest that have!

He never suggested his weather station was better than NWS/TYS.  If you look under his name, his location is in North Knox County, and he was just reporting the conditions at his location in the valley, as well as a few others in Knox county.  C'mon Toot!!!   You should know that the weather conditions at TYS aren't indicative of weather in ALL of Knox County.

Anyways..it looks like the knoxville area never made it cold enough at the surface for any rain to freeze..nor did it here where I live

The NAM is really close to busting out some light to mod snow in the state this weekend. And there is usually more precip to the north that what is progged in these setups. Will have to watch this very closely could be a surprise!!

Man, I hope so. I am getting testy and it looks like everyone is ready for some of that white stuff.

The new and improved GFS came in with a MASSIVE snow storm almost statewide in about a weeks time..man that is sexy!!!

Yeah!!!!  I was looking at that.... Soon the artic and the southern branch will have to meet on top of us with this pattern. It has been a tough winter with everything that is going on.. I would not be surprised to see a couple of snow storms back to back for us soon.. But!!!!!!! A little heart broken so far with weather and football  .... Bad calls, bad modeling... Got to love it!!!

OMG, I hope that sucker verifies. That would be a nice snow, right?

Man, Neal's I wish I could say!! That's for next fri... I do get excited when I see these things showing up, but I've been burnt all year even in shorter range when trying to talk these storms up, just to see it disappear a day or two before they should happen.. Case point the system that was to give us a snow shot tonight and tomorrow, was on the models for a week then the last few days gone.. Now showing something light again just within 24 hrs of the event.. I'm sure we will get a good one soon!!!! Remember it is the gfs.. But I like what the euro is doing for this sun..... Toot hit on that earlier with the nam...

Side note! The above storm for next fri.. If it means anything...... It has been showing on the ensembles for a week or so now, so for the GFS to show this now, it has got my wheels on fire again... So the odds of a storm are good but, so far if shows snow it will rain, maybe this one will break the cycle...

I notice the low is tracking in the right place for a good snow. If it moved north say 50 to to 100 miles north, then it would be rain in a lot of places

I like the look of that map.

Radar feeling in very nicely..I predicted yesterday on my blog that models were not bringing precip far enough north and thats exactly what has happened here. And the models are still not picking up on it..I would say look out smoky mtns..prob in for quite a few inches of snow with even an inch possible in the lower elevations of TN. Also MRX highs are gonna bust by a long shot today..way too warm!!

Which day are you looking at here, Toot? Saturday or Sunday?

Neal's... He's showing today. The above statement that he was talking about from the nam was for today.. Sat is going to be in the 50s, sun will cool off some with maybe a couple of showers ending as some snow showers poss... I haven't looked at the euro today, but it was showing a bigger storm for sun... The radar looked nice for me this morning but it was a lot of verga with hazy sunshine. Not even a snow flurry!

I'll be up at my other house at the foot of round mtn tonight around 2300ft expecting some snow on the ground there

Have light to moderate snow falling with 34.8 and a trace on the ground.

Guys if the euro is right with the cold that will be coming in a week or so, better watch out!!!! It is extreame as I've ever seen to be honest.... It has the core of the outbreak right over us...
