Re: March 5-6th Winter Storm
Due to the timeframe they can hold off on issuing products. They'll have to roll out by this afternoon with something.

Are you all going to get any wrap around snow? If Knox sees any that's what it will be.Dyersburg Weather wrote:36 degrees in Dyersburg and rain/snow mix. Precip about over here.

Yep, I would agree with you VFL, it's still 40 at the house, and I see Knox. At 41. Meanwhile Chatanooga is 57! It all depends on the warm front and how far N it makes it, but, I doubt that even if it makes it this far, that we hit even 50 b4 the front comes through. Remember though, too, that any snow that comes will be overnight, so eventually, the rain will stop, and it may seem that all is over. however, the ull looks to drop in after midnight, bringing it's own moisture. Assuming it plays out that way, then middle and eastern TN will see some snow. Still some if's though, as ULL's tend to be hard to pinpoint

Re: March 5-6th Winter Storm
Yeah Jed, MRX was suggesting with their noon update that the warm front might not make it to Knoxville and that could change the forecast. We'll see but at this point I'd be just as surprised if we got 3-4" or nothing.

Re: March 5-6th Winter Storm
MRX did pretty much what I figured and went with a WWA here. They are still forecasting warning criteria snow but didn't put the warning out. For whatever reason they basically never issue warnings outside the mountains, even when events exceed the criteria.

Same here John. They say total snow accum. up to 2 inches by tomorrow, but no advisory, lol. I said it this morning, it's like they give an AFD forecast, and a separate zone forecast. That way they have both bases covered. Sux, b/c they should be exactly the same, but they hardly ever are, lol.

They only like to issue products after the fact. They issue what they're reasonably sure will happen at minimum then upgrade maybe if it becomes an extreme event.

It was actually an impressive flooding day here too. My driveway is washed out and the creek is out of its banks and is using the roadway.

The temp crashed impressively here, strong winds and down to 35 degrees. Probably won't be any more moisture until later tonight if not on towards morning.
