So far its pretty good timinig if you're in east TN. Surface temps in the 30's have just entered western TN. This cold airmass will settle in overnight. Rude awakening in the morning with temps in the low to mid 30s with snow. This late in march you need the sun on your side to get accumulating snow. whiskey

About an hour ago had a massive thunderstorm with lots of hail, blinding winds and heavy heavy blinding rain.

The hail was not much bigger than sleet and poured down like sleet.

No thunderstorm here, but had some heavy rain, then some pretty decent wind gusts. Pressure at 29.44 and steady.

Cold advection winds just started howling here! I think I will have a drink to Winter's last hoorah! beer

As much as im ready for spring I will miss the cold advection regimes from time to time.

Had a good round of sleet go through a few minutes ago. It was a quick but intense burst.

Man, you ain't kiddin! It hit with a punch. Really heavy rain, extremely high winds, and this time, got some hail mixed in.

Started snowing here around 11:45. Light so far and it comes in spits and starts.

MRX updated me to a WWA for 1-3 inches. Currently 30 degrees, light snow with a dusting on the grass, porches and roofs.

chased a crazy 35dbz round of snow to chapman hwy a few mins ago, there was 3 rounds of heavy blizzard like snow squalls. dropped the temp from 36 to 32 under the heaviest bands. radar looks good, looks like the central and northern valley/plateau will get at least a half inch or more. nice start to spring!

The snow is mostly steady light snow for now, but there will be squalls like the one Reb is talking about area wide today. If you're lucky several will scream across your location.

John, it was intense. I had to pull over for a few minutes until it passed. Unfortunately the heavy squalls move very quickly but it sure is a sight to see!

Coming down heavily here now. Visibility is a bit less than 1/2 mile. Nickel sized flakes filling the air.

Got about 3/4 of an inch of snow on the ground and it stuck to the trees too. NWS didnt think temps would drop below freezing overnight. Right now its light snow with 30 degrees
