Winter Wx Discussion 2013/14

Moderate to heavy snow here now, everything is covered roads, grass, etc... SWEET! Where is Toot!!!

VERY light snow in Oak Ridge, TN (just a little NW of Knoxville).

Light Snow right now. 20 degrees. We are under a WWA 1 -2 inches. Then end of this is only one county a way from us. Unless something builts to the west or south we won't get much of anything. Little energy source coming at us out of Texas is the reason. Should hook up with the main Low to the south of us and maybe give them some problems. My daughter lives in Evans, Ga and they are under a winter storm warning. 2 to 4 inches. Yesterday they had right at 70 degrees. What a turn around. Some of the schools have been call off down there. Not sure if all have or will close.

Light snow continuing here and roads are covered in a dusting. 18 degrees.

Currently 19 degrees and light snow here. The roads are covered.

Light snow here too got a little over 1/2 inch right now. Roads and everything white here too sticking like melted butter on a biscuit!

Light Snow 19. Roads are white. May be a 1/4 inch on ground. Very fine dry snowflakes. Have to go to church around 12 today to help prepare food for one of our family member mother that die. Should not be a problem getting there.

Almost a half inch on Signal Mtn in Chattanooga. Been snowing for 2 hrs. Small fine flakes. It's 15 degrees. This looks like it will be our 4th snow this year of less than 1/2 inch...lol.

Congrats on the snow. I am all in for next week here in West Tn. Going to be a good one somewhere. Maybe we will cash in.

I gotta say, I've been following this since last Thursday and watching it aggravate everyone on the fact the models were having a really hard time pegging this down. We weren't event supposed to be in the game and here I stand in West Knoxville with .5 inch of snow A very interesting system needless to say.

Looks like about 30 miles north of Atlanta around Cartersville may get 2-3 inches.

Looks like Raleigh NC and westward toward Greenville NC are going to get the best snow tonight. 6-10 inches

Up to a solid inch now in Mtown!!! Still have light to moderate snow here

1.5in now!! Still snowing pretty good here looks like the WWA will verify! If I make it to 2in here, it will be the biggest snow I've had this year. I had 1.75 during the first big arctic outbreak at the beginning of the month

21 degrees with snow still falling. Roads snow and ice cover. Went out for a few minutes some roads block off because of people sliding off the road. May have 3/4 of and inch to 1 inch on the ground. Schools out. This was one the the weathermen missed big time. They did say some snow or flurries would fall today, but  they didn't expect it to closes schools and roads to become slick. This is what i call a perfect winter day. This is just great to see. 

Just shy of an inch here. I drove up and down the mtn...roads are snowpacked. Horrible drivers in the ditch. Otherwise, it is easy to drive on. We are about done with the snow. This puts us at 2.5 inches on the year with 4 "events" Haha

2.25in now! Still snowing moderately here!! Dare I say it, can I close 3 out of this?

Haha..whew..been hell trying to find time to post anything about weather. Cant say that we didnt see this coming. Looks like its gonna continue well into the night here

Haha he woke up!! Welcome to the party Toot! I just re measured on the picnic table right at 2.5in!

23 degrees light snow. Just over one inch. Good thing about this snow is that it will still be on the ground Weds.

Only about 1/2 inch here, but the heaviest snow of the event is falling right now. Hopefully I can squeeze an inch. Just a bit too far NW for me on this one.

My house in Halls area. Snowing pretty good right now and radar showing some good returns.

Here in Knoxville I just measured 2 inches of slow - not bad for basically 7 hours of flurries at this point.

Closing in on 3in here at the house!!! I have to say wxsouth absolutely nailed this one yesterday AM! I was very skeptical but it panned out. Been snowing since 7:45 this morning. Again I have to say it is one of the coldest 3in I have ever witnessed anywhere and I've been snow skiing many times out west! When all is said and done, this will be a good little event for E TN and one for the record books in South Carolina Georgia and Alabama!

We have approximately two inches here in Southern Campbell across from Norris Lake. Snow still lightly falling. It is going to be dicey driving out of here in the morning before daylight.
